speech therapy

The service is provided to both oncological and non-oncological children

The Speech Therapy service started as an assistance unit in the Olivares Foundation around the second semester of 2016. The service is provided both to oncological and non oncological children, covering many pathologies such as cardiovascular, neurological, haematological, generalised developmental disorders, genetic disorders, etc.

The main objectives set out for these patients have been focused on the pathologies that include the swallowing area (everything that involves the preparatory phase, oral phase and pharyngeal phase), the speech area (articulation, speech apraxia, fluency disorder), the language area (comprehension and expression), the cognition area (attention, memory, problem solving and executive skills) and the voice area (vocal field, volume, breathing, dysphonia, aphonia, etc.).
